A face cord is the size most people actually mean when they ask for “a cord of wood.” It’s one-third of a full cord: 4 feet high, 8 feet long and about 16 inches deep, roughly 42 cubic feet when stacked. The logs are about 16 inches long, so they fit standard fireplaces and wood stoves.
What you get
- One face cord, 4′ high x 8′ long x about 16″ deep
- Roughly 20 of our 2.25 cubic foot bins, or around 50 bundles
- Kiln-dried mixed hardwood, about 16″ long
Common questions
What’s the difference between a face cord and a full cord?
A full cord is 128 cubic feet (4′ x 4′ x 8′). A face cord has the same height and length but only one row of 16-inch wood, so it’s about a third of that. Always ask what depth a seller is quoting. We tell you ours up front.
Will it fit my rack?
A face cord is 8 feet wide, so it takes a long rack or two shorter ones. If you only have a 4′ x 4′ rack, look at our Fill Your Firewood Rack or the half face cord instead.
Do you ship to my state?
Yes. We ship nationwide, and free shipping is on right now as part of our seasonal sale.
