A quarter cord is one fourth of a full cord: about 4 feet high, 6 feet long and 16 inches deep, made mostly of 16-inch pieces. It’s the right size for people who burn lightly or occasionally. It’s more than the bundles at the hardware store, and less than a face cord.

If you burn once or twice a week, a quarter cord is plenty. For regular heating, the face cord gives you a deeper stack.
How should I store it?
Off the ground, with the top covered and the sides open to air. A rack works best.
