The J.A. Roby Chief wood cookstove has a defining feature built into its name: an integrated water tank with spigot, giving hot water on tap while the stove is running — a genuinely useful feature for off-grid or emergency-preparedness setups, and one the rest of the Roby lineup in this collection doesn’t include. It pairs that with a full-width food warmer (39.875″ wide) above the cooktop and a 2.39-cubic-foot oven with a built-in thermometer.
Worth noting plainly: at 64.5% efficiency, the Chief runs lower than most other stoves in this collection, a tradeoff of its more traditional pedestal-and-warmer design. Output is still strong at 70,000 BTU/hr across 1,000–1,800 sq ft, and reduced clearance requirements (as little as 2.25″ to the rear wall) make it easier to fit into existing kitchen layouts than bulkier alternatives. EPA 2020 certified and mobile home approved, with a limited lifetime warranty.
